A visit to Velloorsdrif border post in the //Karas Region found no vehicle movement between Namibia and South Africa on the day of the visit. Officials stationed at the border post said traffic fluctuates, with several vehicles recorded the previous day. Since the foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in southern Namibia and the introduction of movement restrictions, they have not encountered any cases of meat or other potentially risky products being confiscated from vehicles. Officials also confirmed that water supplies are currently sufficient to disinfect vehicles and travellers crossing between the two countries, following earlier reports of shortages.
