President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says 127 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) cases have been confirmed across 15 farms in the Karasburg Veterinary District of the //Kharas Region.
Speaking today, Nandi-Ndaitwah said surveillance teams had inspected 29 313 animals across 68 farms as government intensifies efforts to contain the outbreak. Twenty surveillance teams have been deployed, while 10 roadblocks have been established across the region to support disease-control measures.
